Umw sunday

SUNDAY, APRIL 8, 2018

You might have noticed that we have groups of women in our church that work together to care for people, locally, nationally, and around the world. They emphasize love, mercy, and justice in their service wherever they go. They study together to grow closer to Christ. And they reach out to each other in fellowship and support, caring deeply for one another's needs. I'm speaking of the United Methodist Women, which we celebrate on April 8. UMW is an organization as relevant and necessary in our world in turmoil today as it was in 1869 when it first began. Our Forest Hills UMW is a large group made up of small circles of women of various ages, who continue the mission begun in 1869, when missionaries were sent to serve medical needs of women in India.

Visit our Methodist Women's page to find out more details about Monthly meetings and other events.

GOOD NEIGHBOR WORKDAY

APRIL 28, 2018

Thank you to everyone who signed up to help us with our Good Neighbor Work Day. Churches across Macon will be working with Rebuilding Macon on April 28 and we are proud to say that Forest Hills UMC will be represented by over 80 people as we work to assist people in the Ingleside Community. If you would like to donate towards snacks for our volunteers on that day, please speak with Teresa Edwards. If you would like to donate funds for the landscaping Forest Hills will be doing “above and beyond” the things that Rebuilding Macon has planned for the homes, you can write a check and write “Good Neighbor Landscaping” on the memo line. Please pray for all of our representatives on April 28. Pray for good weather, no injuries, wisdom as we share God’s love with the community, and for a spirit of joy as we work together to build the kingdom of God here in Macon.
